Flywheel bolts shearing – related to crank?
Lost one flywheel bolt on my 1.9 JTD Alfa, engine shook badly until I stopped. Threads in crank flange look okay, but worried about stretched crank or damaged flange. Need new bolts or inspect crank?

¿Es buena idea comprar un coche diésel en 2025?
Con tanta normativa nueva, no sé si un diésel sigue siendo buena compra. ¿Qué opináis quienes todavía conducís uno?

Sheared flywheel bolts often from loose torque, weak bolts, or dual-mass flywheel failing- can stress crank flange holes. If threads good and no elongation, usually just new high-tensile bolts + Loctite. But check flange for cracks. I had two shear- replaced DMF and bolts. Inspected crank flange (clean), no issues. Sourced new flywheel bolts and crank seal kit from https://elartcom.eu/categories/engine-block-and-crankshaft-141 - they have crankshaft hardware and rear seals for Fiat/JTD engines. Torqued in stages, no recurrence. If flange damaged, they'd have crank options. Worth doing bolts preventively if DMF is old.
